The battle infused historical forest trails of the Anandpur Sahib Valley in Punjab have a rich unparalleled history. The region dates back to Mohanjodaro civilization 4000 years ago, the first humans who descended from the mountains in the North to plains of India, settled down here.
A short drive away, at Sri Anandpur Sahib, Guru Gobind Singh created Khalsa in 1699 on Vaisakhi Day and brought about a revolution as the most important landmark in the history of Punjab. World famous Virasat E Khalsa Museum is located at Sri Anandpur Sahib
The anglo-sikh war of 1945, against the British was fought here. Famously, Guru Gobind Singh traversed these forests, establishing the Khalsa army against Mughal tyranny. It was in these terrains, Guru Gobind Singh's family got separated in the winter of 1704, never to be together again
Close to Kikar forest is Kiratpur Sahib on the banks of the river Satluj, established by Guru Har Gobind Singh and also birth place and coronation ground for Guru Har Rai and Guru Harikrishan. Gurdwara Patalpuri Sahib, where Sikhs immerse ashes of the dead is located close by.

For example, it is mentioned in ancient Indian scriptures and is considered sacred in Hinduism. The tree is associated with various deities and is often planted near temples and religious sites. It's worth noting that while the Kikar tree can be beneficial in various ways, it can also be invasive in certain regions outside its native range, where it may outcompete native vegetation.
